چکیده
Abstract. Palaeomagnetism is a relatively unknown part of Earth sciences that not well integrated into the school curriculum in UK. Throughout recent years, there has been decline number science students In 2018 and 2019, we developed outreach activities resources to introduce scientifically engaged general public palaeomagnetism raise awareness how geomagnetism affects society today, thus putting palaeomagnetism, sciences, spotlight. We tested our ideas at local events were visited mostly by families with small children, tens hundreds participants. Our project culminated Magnetic Core stand Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition which members public, teachers, scientists, policymakers media. At this event, communicated fundamentals through hands-on presented research advances fun family- friendly way. To test impact exhibit on knowledge Earth's magnetic field visitors, designed an interactive quiz collected results from 382 participants over 8 d. The show significant increase median score 22.2 % between those who had yet for more than 10 min. school-aged respondents alone larger 33.5 spent min stand. These findings demonstrate event was successful impacting visitors' learning. hope can serve as inspiration other laboratories looking engage wide audience measure success their activities.

abstract the purpose of this study is twofold: on the one hand, it is intended to see what kind of noticing-the –gap activity (teacher generated vs. learner generated) is more efficient in teaching l2 grammar in classroom language learning. on the other hand, it is an attempt to determine which approach of the noticing-the-gap- activity is more effective in the long- term retention of grammar...
Communicating vagueness by hands and face
This paper investigates the bodily signals of vagueness. After presenting the conceptual notion of vagueness by contrasting with uncertainty, approximation, confusion and ambiguity, the notion of “metadiscursive vagueness signal” is presented, a case of metadiscursive signals that convey “I am being vague”. Then a qualitative analysis of bodily signals of vagueness is presented, while singling ...

Advancing Precambrian palaeomagnetism with the PALEOMAGIA and PINT(QPI) databases
State-of-the-art measurements of the direction and intensity of Earth's ancient magnetic field have made important contributions to our understanding of the geology and palaeogeography of Precambrian Earth. The PALEOMAGIA and PINT(QPI) databases provide thorough public collections of important palaeomagnetic data of this kind. They comprise more than 4,100 observations in total and have been es...
